Strategic Overview
City-wide performance at a glance — Q1 2026
Commissioner's Brief
Lagos State's waste management platform has collected ₦1.34B of the ₦1.7B monthly revenue target — 79% achievement — with digital payment adoption now at 68% of all transactions, the highest in Nigeria. The recycling rate has climbed from 8.2% to 12.4% over Q1 2026, placing the state comfortably ahead of schedule toward the national 25% target by 2027. Carbon offset performance reached 2,450 tonnes CO₂ this quarter, an 18% improvement over Q4 2025, strengthening Lagos State's SDG 12 and SDG 13 climate commitments. Critical concerns persist in Mushin and Agege zones where collection rates remain below 40%, with enforcement escalation and the suspension review of Lagos Clean Co. now in progress. The Commissioner is advised to convene an urgent performance review with EcoClean Lagos, Lagos Clean Co., and Pristine Waste Management before Q2 commences on April 1, 2026.
